Janice Morrow grew up in the northeast heights of Albuquerque, NM graduating from Eldorado High School in 1993 where she was a member of the school newspaper and aspired to be a television news reporter. As a high school sophomore, she attended journalism camp at Eastern New Mexico University where she ultimately graduated in 1997 with a degree in broadcast production. After graduating from ENMU, she began her career TV news and quickly learned her strength was in storytelling for nonprofit organizations. This interest motivated her to seek a different career path with nonprofit organizations including Albuquerque Academy, the American Cancer Society, Samaritan Counseling Center and others.

She found a love for American Indian-related initiatives when she volunteered to manage the public relations for a fundraiser golf tournament led by Notah Begay, III, the first Native American Golfer on the Pro tour. Soon after, she became his community relations manager. While working with Begay, she had the opportunity to assist the Albuquerque Area Dental Support Center in promoting the importance of dental care to American Indian patients and parents. Over a 15-year span, she traveled extensively to the IHS/Tribal/Urban dental clinics in New Mexico, Southern Colorado and West Texas, as well as the other Dental Support Centers across the country. Her work garnered several national health awards for dental-related content directed at Native American populations. Her work with the Albuquerque Area Dental Support Center introduced her to the Society of American Indian Dentists. Janice served seven SAID presidents in different capacities as their Conference Coordinator, Executive Administrator, and their first ever Executive Director overseeing the administrative functions, programs, membership, and fundraising for the organization. Today, she serves as the Advancement & Communications Director for the New Mexico Community Foundation, the only statewide community foundation in New Mexico.

As a community leader, Janice has served on the All Faiths Receiving Home Auxiliary Board, the ENMU Alumni Association Board, the Des Moines, NM FFA Alumni Association Board, and the Union County, NM 4H program.
